 ication – NPTC Level 2 Certificate of Competence in Using a Chainsaw From
  a Rope and Harness\n£967 inc. Vat (This cost also includes the cost of th
 e external assessment and NPTC registration fees.)\nThis course is designed
  to provide the skills and practical experience to use chainsaws safely and
  effectively within the canopy.\nThe course will cover the following:\n\nHe
 alth and safety\, including relevant legislation and risk assessment\nPre-w
 ork planning\nTree pruning techniques\nVisual Tree assessment\nWork positio
 ning whilst using a chainsaw\nA variety of cuts to be implemented in the ca
 nopy\nUse of a chainsaw on spikes\n\nEntry Requirements\nTrainees must alre
 ady hold certification for\, chainsaw maintenance and cross cutting\, felli
 ng and processing small trees under 380mm\, and tree climbing and aerial re
 scue\, before enrolling on this course. Trainees must provide their own PPE
  and have a good level of fitness. Great Oaks Training reserves the right t
 o refuse training to any person we consider to be unfit\, for any reason.\
 nAll trainers are first aid trained\; however\, we advise that all candidat
 es hold a current recognised first aid qualification before commencing trai
 ning.\nEquipment Requirements\n\nPersonal Protective Equipment\n\nSafety Cl
 imbing Helmet (Complying with BS EN 12492)\nTight fitting gripper gloves 
 – nonessential \nChainsaw trousers – Type C\nChainsaw boots\nGreat Oak
 s Training reserves the right to withdraw the training to candidates if the
  PPE or equipment is not in a safe condition\n\n\nClimbing Equipment\n\nSui
 table climbing equipment can be rented from Great Oaks Training for candida
 tes to use\nClimbing equipment owned by the candidate may be used\, however
  all equipment will require current LOLER certification to be shown and be 
 subject to inspection by our trainers before being used.\n\n\nOther Equipme
 nt\nTop handle chainsaw – subject to inspection before use. (Equipment ma
