The ARB Approved Contractor scheme, operated by the Arboricultural Association, is the only comprehensive accreditation for tree service businesses in the UK. First introduced in the 1970s, it has been internationally recognised for its quality management systems. It stands as a symbol of safe and reliable arboricultural contracting.
As an ARB Approved Contractor, Great Oaks has been thoroughly vetted and continues to meet the Association’s exacting standards. Our inclusion in this scheme demonstrates that we don’t just get the job done: we do it safely, professionally, and to the highest quality.
Becoming an ARB Approved Contractor, or ArbAC, involves undergoing a rigorous assessment process. To meet the standard, you need to demonstrate:
Gaining ArbAC status involves meeting the Arboricultural Association’s standards across four modules: worksite safety inspection; work quality inspections and arboricultural knowledge; customer care and office procedures; and health, safety, environmental management and workplace inspection.
During the inspection process, assessors carefully review our work, including tree planting, crown lifting and crown reduction. We are also required to meet the highest safety and environmental standards at our workplace.
Importantly, this isn’t just a one-time assessment: reassessments are required every two years to maintain ArbAC accreditation. Great Oaks’ ARB Approved Contractor status is a sign of our dedication to consistently being leaders in our field.
