Situation | What we do first | Typical method | What you can expect |
Wind-thrown tree across a road or driveway | Secure the area and set exclusion zones | Sectional dismantle or controlled felling, chip and clear | Access restored and site left tidy |
Hanging or split limb over footpath or car park | Isolate the hazard and make safe from ground or MEWP | Targeted limb removal and clean cuts to BS3998 | Risk removed and canopy left balanced |
Tree on a building or fence | Stabilise and prevent further movement | Rigging and careful lowering, debris removal | Protection of structures and a clear working area |
Trees near utilities or substations | Liaise with the network operator and follow permits | Utility-compliant vegetation removal | Safe clearance and full documentation |
Storm damage, visible cracking or movement at the root plate, trees leaning after heavy rain, hanging limbs over public areas, and any failure that blocks a route or threatens property. If you are unsure, send a photo and postcode. We will advise right away and, if needed, mobilise a team.
First, we make the area safe and agree the plan with you. A lead arborist assesses the defect, access and nearby risks. We then choose the safest method, which could be sectional dismantling with rigging, MEWP access, or controlled felling where space allows. Arisings are chipped or removed by licensed carriers. Stumps can be ground below soil level if you want to reinstate the area. Before we leave, the team cleans down and provides a short digital report with photos.
