“Fantastic job done today by Jason. A big sycamore tree stump removal at the back of my garden. A professional and polite company who I will be using again. Very happy with his work and a competitive price too. 10/10!”

“Excellent service! I asked for a quote for having 10 trees in my front garden cut back down to a safe height. Jason came over very quickly to give me a very competitive price. Within a week all 10 trees had been cut back and reduced to avoid over hanging telephone cables and reduce any overhanging danger on the road. When finished, he tidied up and took all the branches, logs and twigs away and left the garden tidier than when he first arrived! A very quick, safe, professional service.”

“I couldn’t recommend Great Oaks more! All the team were very friendly and accommodating. The back of our garden was a big mess and getting very overgrown, it was a big job but we couldn’t be happier with the result. It is so much brighter and has really opened up the space. We will definitely use again when the tree re-grows and needs another prune – thank you!”

“Prompt and reasonable quotation. Very professional service with great attention to safety. Properly equipped. Felled my tree quickly and without fuss. Ground the stump to below soil level and turfed the area. Cleared the debris and left the site clean. Very courteous team, highly recommended.”

Yes. If a tree is dangerous, storm‑damaged or has failed, call us and we will triage the situation and aim to attend the same day where possible. We make the site safe first, then agree follow‑up works such as sectional dismantling, clearance and stump grinding.
Our arborists hold relevant NPTC certificates of competence and follow site‑specific risk assessments and method statements. Public and employers’ liability insurance is in place. Climbing and rigging equipment is maintained and inspected in line with LOLER requirements.
Yes. We agree the finish before starting. Options include removing all arisings, chipping on site for mulch, cutting timber to log lengths or taking everything away. After stump grinding we backfill the hole with grindings so the area is level and ready for reinstatement.
We can advise you on what is needed and support with the paperwork. TPO trees require a formal application to the local authority. Works in a Conservation Area usually need a six‑week notice. We also schedule works around wildlife considerations such as the bird‑nesting season where relevant.
We offer a free, no‑obligation site visit. You will receive a clear written quote that sets out the scope, method, finish, and any traffic or access considerations so you know exactly what is included before we schedule the work.
Standard grinding is typically 200–300 mm below ground level so you can re‑turf or replant. Surface roots can be chased out to an agreed distance if required. If you need deeper grinding for foundations or a new fence line, let us know and we can price that separately.
Yes. Before works begin we identify overhead and underground services, protect lawns and surfaces with boards where needed and use appropriate rigging or MEWPs to manage risk. We also arrange traffic management if operations affect a highway or footpath.
Tell us what you need and we’ll come back with a clear, no‑obligation quote.
